Date Night, by David

We went out for Dinner...

Welcome

Hello.

Thought I'd try something new!

I know I like to eat out and I think I'd like to try write a little bit.  This may fizzle, or it may spark - we'll just have to wait and see...

I'm just going to tell you about my Dining Experiences.  I'm not exactly sure what I'll talk about as of this second, so the first few entries will probably get edited a lot as I get a feel for what makes me happy.  I'll probably cheat and backdate a couple that we visited prior to me deciding to have a go at this so I can get some practice...  I'll try give all my articles a similar type flow / voice / feel / look, but I'm no writing-major...

My goal will always be to highlight the positive, and pretty much skip over the negative.  However, if for example the Hosts annoy us, I'll let you know.  I kind of get the feeling, the longer my article turns out, the happier we were - but I'm not going to promise a direct correlation there. When my wife and I dine, a positive experience for us fits very much hand in hand with value for money (just as tastiness, service, atmosphere and other things do).  Now, not for one second am I going to try define value for money here because I know it's unlikely we'll agree.  Just know it's a factor in evaluating all our Dining Experiences.  Sometimes we'll spend $20 and be completely satiated, other times in the $200 range and feel unfulfilled, and of course vice versa.  But regardless of the number on the bottom line of the check it won't be repeated in my posts.  Sometimes we want new experiences and sometimes we want the comfortable known stuff - it'll all be here.

And, although I've called this Date Night I'm of no doubt that I'll include any Dining Out Experience (take-out doesn't count because that's a whole other story and neither does a 20 minute lunch that includes 'checking out') regardless of who we're with and how many of them there are; even Lunch, Brunch & Breakfast.  Generally, though, the more cash that gets dropped per person, the more likely it was just me and my wonderful wife.

Finally, I think finally anyway.  I will never Dine Out so I can write an article.  I will never take a picture during the dinner and post it here.  I will never make notes to be transcribed here.  What you see here is all about the Memory and Experience of the Meal, not the documenting of it.  Occasionally there may be gaps in the 'story telling', but that causes me no grief - I have gaps in my day to day life too.

That's how we got this far; shall we see where we go to now?

Stay JOLLY!

pps.  Oh, and I just grabbed up one of the stock posterous themes.  I might tinker so don't be surprised if the appearance changes from visit to visit for a bit.  I promise to settle as quickly as I can!
